Appeals

For individuals in removal proceedings, an adverse decision before the Immigration Court does not have to be the final opportunity to gain relief. With some limited exceptions, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) can hear appeals from the decisions of Immigration Judges. Strict filing deadlines apply, and the identification of errors of Immigration Judges’ reasoning requires careful legal analysis.
